Photo Journal # 3: May 12, 2014 (Monday)

This is a typical, age-old routine for me… studying. I used to believe that I study for the sake of grades. After uni, however, I continue my habit of learning new facts, concepts; basically, groping for any wisdom from anything I can get my hands on. Due to comprehensive exams coming up this Saturday, linguistic concepts packed my day. I’m a person though who does not want to read books, notes related to the subjects I’m taking up. Up to this day; neuroscience, neuroeducation, psychology, history and chemistry dominated my list of most preferred subjects. So, every time I receive the grace of free whiles, I grab books about them and read like a mad scientist.

Photo Journal #2: May 11, 2014 (Sunday)

Today, I decided to see Jacky, my best friend, at a chocolate shop which I first thought of as a chocolate restaurant instead of meeting at a packed fast food resto. I finished two cups of hot choco and a slice of chocolate mousse cake after having a mixture of aimless chatters and serious talks with Jacky for almost two hours. We, then, headed to KCC Malll cinemas and waited for Princess, Tata 1, Tata 2 (our house helps) and Ate Lilian (the wife of my uncle, Gerry) to watch the Amazing Spiderman 2.

Meet Jacky! :D

Bucket List Success # 3: Volunteer in the Church

I joined the Commentators and Lectors Ministry (CLM) of Sta. Ana Shrine Parish, Davao city last November 2013. It was the best decision I made two years after leaving the ministry in South Cotabato because in some way, volunteering did help me in coping with depression. Now, I’m enormously grateful and happy. The first phase involved attending the monthly general meetings. After completing the required general meeting sessions, I was recommended for weekday mass reading and was assigned as lector for the 12 noon Monday mass for two months. Finally, I was promoted and allowed to serve during Sunday masses.

If I could give only give one advice to those battling with depression,  that would be, “serve God and you would never go hungry and thirsty.”
